MOAACC JROTC Medal Grant Program

At the end of each school year, we present outstanding High School Junior ROTC Cadets with the “MOAA Medal” for demonstrating academic achievement and aptitude for military service. Starting with school year 2022, we will do more, providing a monetary grant to each of the 15 Brevard County High School JROTC award recipients. We want to use the medal and the grant money to encourage those with an aptitude and desire for military service to pursue future military career options. The grant will also enhance the prestige of the MOAA award and differentiate it from awards given by other civic and veteran organizations. We expect the money will help do things like offset the costs of applying for college and facilitate discussions for serving in the military.

How much will the Grant be? That depends--We have set a floor of $50, meaning we will need to receive a total of $750 dollars in donations over the next six months (2021/2022). We hope we can greatly exceed that amount however, and build it up in the coming years to $1000.

We need your help—You’ll see the ads in future Five Things and THE INTERCOM and we will go out with a special focused emailing each Fall and Spring to encourage donations to this cause. To donate, click the ad below to go to our donation webpage. On the “Campaign” pull down, select “JROTC MOAA Medal Grant” to specifically designate that you want your donation used for the JROTC Grant. Donations for the grant are qualified tax deductions as well. You can help make a meaningful impact by “Lighting the Way” to encourage area youth to pursue military career options!
