Major General James O. Eifert, Florida Adjutant General - January Luncheon Speaker

Our Luncheon Speaker Program for the New Year kicks off on Tuesday, 21 January, with our guest speaker, the Adjutant General of Florida, Major General James Eifert.  Maj Gen Eifert is the Governor’s Senior Military Advisor and the Director of the State’s Department of Military Affairs.  In this capacity, he is responsible for the readiness, training and operations of the approximately 12,000 soldiers and airmen in the Florida National Guard.  He will provide us with an overview of the many activities of the Florida National Guard—ranging from relief for natural disasters to overseas deployments for National Security objectives. 

Maj Gen Eifert received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in June 1982.  He became the State Adjutant General in April of 2019.  Prior to that, he was the Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, Pacific Air Forces, and from February 2013 to February 2017, he was Adjutant General-Air and Commander of the Florida Air National Guard.  He is a graduate of the USAF Fighter Weapons School and has commanded at the squadron, group, wing, and state levels.  He has led multiple combat deployments, including policing the Northern Iraq no-fly zone during Operations Provide Comfort, enforcing the no-fly zones over Iraq on Operations Northern and Southern Watch, protecting our national airspace after 9/11 on Operation Noble Eagle, and other overseas contingency missions.  Maj Gen Eifert is a command pilot with over 3,800 flight hours in the F-4, F-15, T-37 and T-38 aircraft.  His awards include the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, among others.
