Description
Dr. Doris Newman serves as campus Dean of the Florida location for the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Newman joined Burrell from Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she served as Interim Chair and Associate Professor of Osteopathic Principles and Practices Department while concurrently running a private practice in osteopathic manipulative and regenerative medicine.
She holds a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Texas Women’s University, Class of 1986, and received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) in 1998. She completed two years of residency in Internal Medicine (IM) at Worcester Medical Center in 2000 and a final two years in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM) at UNECOM in 2002 and is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (AOBNMM/OMM) as well as Pain Medicine (AOBNMM/PM). She earned her Fellowship of the American Academy of Osteopathy (FAAO) in 2014.
Dr. Newman has broad experience in academic and clinical medicine having previously served as Assistant Dean of Clinical Medicine, Director of Graduate Medical Education, Director of Rural and Urban Underserved Medicine. She has been honored to be an invited lecturer both nationally and internationally and has been an avid volunteer leader in the osteopathic community serving on the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Osteopathy, elected President in 2015, Board of Trustees of the Maine Osteopathic Association, Vice Chair of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education on the Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Review Committee (ACGME ONMM RC) and the American Osteopathic Association’s Bureau of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education.
Dr. Newman was recognized for her contributions to the AAO as recipient of the 2019 Thomas L Northrup Lecturer Award.
Cost is $25.00 for luncheon. Meal choices are:

3. Vegetarian meals available upon request
