Description
Judge Dugan is a veteran of the US Army. He enlisted after completion of Law School, serving as a JAG Officer in Germany for three years. Judge Dugan was elected in 1998 and has since run unopposed. He established one of Florida’s first Domestic Violence courts and was honored by then Gov. Bush for his insight.
Although he prefers to remain in the background, Judge Dugan has been recognized for his community service at the state and local level, including being named by the Florida Today as the 2018 Volunteer of the Year. Judge Dugan has served on many levels as a volunteer with many non-profits. Of long-term interest is the Summit of Seven, a mentor program for young men and boys. Annually, there is a county wide educational convention where these vulnerable youth are exposed to a future that they do not regularly see. They begin to see that mentors care about them, and that education and careers are a real option. In 25 years, the event has grown to the campus of Eastern Florida State College, hosting 600+ youth this year.
For three years now Judge Dugan has been an active volunteer with the Space Coast Honor Flight. He currently services as a Guardian Coordinator. While many of you are familiar with the organization, he hopes to provide insight and detail regarding this decades-long effort to recruit Veterans of WWII, Korea and Vietnam to participate in a life-changing experience.
Please join us as Judge David Dugan shares his perspective as a Blue-T-shirt Volunteer, Board Member, Guardian Coordinator, and Flight Staff with the Space Coast Honor Fight.
