Alexis 'Scrappy' Hopkins makes history as Atlantic League draft pick


This Just In: History was made this past week when the Kentucky Wild Health Genomes drafted Alexis Hopkins, the first woman ever drafted by an American professional baseball team for an on-field role, according to the Atlantic League and The Wild Health Genomes are in the Atlantic League, the highest level of professional baseball excluding Major League Baseball (MLB), and is an official MLB partner league based in the US' Southeast region. Alexis “Scrappy” Hopkins is a 2020 recipient of a MOAACC Scholarship, a 2021 Graduate of Florida Tech, and she was recognized with a MOAACC Certificate of Appreciation for her volunteer work with the chapter at our January Awards Banquet. Alexis’ mother Kim is a chapter member. Well done Alexis--we are proud of you! - Alexis gives a shout out to MOAACC around the seven minute mark.
