Deployed Troops Morale Boost Thanks to Oasis and GDF

11/19/2022

After more than 20 years since the GWOT began, one group in Brevard County, led a a mom whose son was deployed several times, has never forgotten our troops in harm’s way. Four-five times per year OASIS comes together with volunteers and donors to create “Care Packages” for hundreds of deployed troops in dozens of units overseas.

Tess Brady Heribacka is the mom and leader who makes sure it happens. On 19 November at Beef O’Bradys on Merritt Island she and her many volunteers gathered to stuff holiday stockings and mail them off before the rush. For the past several years, Good Deeds Foundation of MOAACC has supported OASIS with cash donations. This year was the most ever at $1000 to help fund shipping costs. Thank you to OASIS and its volunteers and donors for the very special project you continue to accomplish. Speaking from my own long ago and my grandson’s unit’s recent experience, there is nothing like getting a great care package of goodies from people who you do not know, but who really care when you are thousands of miles from home defending our country.

Tess, in the middle holding the left side of the big check, is surrounded by her OASIS team and GDF President Donn Weaver far right.
