Patriot Day Ceremoney - 9/11 Memorial Tribute 2020

On Friday, 11 September from 1730-1830, there will be a special Patriot Day Ceremony at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center (BVMC) on Merritt Island, behind Merritt Square Mall.  The event will include music, talks by 9/11 survivors and other speakers.  Chapter members RADM Wayne Justice USCG-Ret and COL Danny McKnight, USA-Ret, are among those featured to participate.  The Museum will also be open both before and after the ceremony.  The Museum is featuring a show “Losing Todd:  A Mother’s Journey”, that includes paintings by chapter member and Gold Star mother Jeanne Weaver.  The paintings reflect on the many sacrifices that followed the events on 9/11.  There is an artist reception at 1630.   The show has been viewed by thousands in Virginia and Florida, and will also be on display from 5-14 September.  Jeanne will also be at the Museum during those dates from 1100-1400 daily and 1300-1500 on Sunday.  All events at BVMC will adhere to current CDC and Brevard County Heath guidelines.
